Terms of Service
Welcome to Altr. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Altr website and web app, and Altr's mobile applications (together, the "App"), and any related tools or content (the "Services"). The Services are operated by DVOLV AI (SMC-PRIVATE) LIMITED, Office no. 26, 3rd Floor, Silver City Plaza, G11 Markaz, Islamabad, Pakistan ("Altr," "we," "us"). By using the Services you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
1. Description of the Services
Altr is an all-in-one AI photo studio and creation toolkit: text-to-image generation, style effects, background removal, resolution upscaling, photo restoration, resizing and related tools. These features use machine learning infrastructure to process the images and prompts you submit.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction). You can browse Altr without an account, but you need to sign in or create an account (email and password, Google, or Apple, through Firebase Authentication) to generate or edit images and to buy credits or a subscription. You must provide sign-in credentials that belong to you and keep your account secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
3. Your content and AI generations
You keep any rights you already have in the images and prompts you upload. For images generated by our AI systems from your prompts or source images ("Generations"):
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, you may use Generations for your own personal or commercial projects.
- AI-generated content may not be eligible for copyright protection under local law, and similar prompts may produce similar results for other users.
- You grant Altr a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to process, transmit and store your prompts and images solely to provide the Services you request, including keeping your results in your Creations history until you delete them.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Services to create, save or share content that:
- infringes the intellectual property, privacy or other rights of any third party;
- is explicit, highly offensive, harassing, defamatory or unlawful;
- exploits or harms minors in any way; or
- depicts a real person in a deceptive, harmful or non-consensual way.
You also agree not to reverse-engineer the Services, bypass usage limits or security controls, or misattribute purchases to accounts that do not own them. We may refuse or remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules.
5. Subscriptions, credits and payments
Altr offers auto-renewing subscriptions (weekly, monthly and yearly) and one-time credit packs. Prices are shown before you buy.
Purchases on the web. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our web orders. Paddle provides all customer service enquiries and handles returns and refunds for web purchases. Paddle's Checkout Buyer Terms apply to your purchase. We do not store your card or other payment details.
Purchases in the mobile apps. Purchases in the iOS and Android apps are processed by Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play) under their own terms, and refunds for those purchases are handled by the relevant store. Our subscription provider, RevenueCat, tells our servers about confirmed purchases so we can credit your account.
Auto-renewal and cancellation. Subscriptions renew automatically at the price and interval shown at checkout until you cancel. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Web subscriptions can be managed or cancelled through the link in your Paddle receipt email; app-store subscriptions are managed in your Apple or Google account.
Credits. Features use whole-number credits. Credits have no cash value, cannot be redeemed for money and are non-refundable except as set out in our Refund Policy or required by law. Credits from credit packs do not expire. If a purchase is refunded, charged back or reversed, we may remove the corresponding credits and premium access. Credits and subscriptions can only be moved between accounts through our official transfer feature; creating multiple accounts to get around purchase attribution may result in forfeiture of credits and termination of access.
Our Refund Policy forms part of these Terms.
6. Third-party infrastructure
The Services depend on third-party cloud, AI and payment providers. Availability and performance depend on their uptime and on your internet connection, and features are provided on an "as available" basis.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT GENERATED IMAGES WILL BE FLAWLESS, SECURE OR ALWAYS AVAILABLE.
8. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ALTR, ITS DEVELOPERS AND AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE FEES YOU PAID TO ALTR IN THE SIX MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under mandatory consumer law.
9. Changes and termination
We may update these Terms. If a change materially affects your subscription rights we will give notice in the App or by email. Continuing to use the Services after a change means you accept the updated Terms. You may stop using the Services at any time, and we may suspend or end access for breach of these Terms.
